Google chrome not playing sound

Rather bizzarly booted up my pc this morning and loaded Chrome as usual. Went to play a video and no sound played, after about 30 seconds the video just stopped even though it was fully loaded. I have rebooted the system to no avail. Sound works in media player, games and the same videos worked on firefox.

Any suggestions?

If I need to reinstall chrome do I need to do anything to backup my bookmarks/passwords?

Cheers

Mine's stopped playing audio too. Tried the BBC Olympic player and Youtube, and neither are working. Audio seems fine elsewhere and it was working fine yesterday. I'm thinking a dodgy update.

It's a Flash issue apparently, rolled out with the latest update. Guess that's no surprise.

A temporary fix, as posted here, is as follows:

Code:
Toni, mine has not been working as well. I worked around the problem by doing the following:
-Go to chrome://plugins
-Click and expand +Details in the Upper Right
-Check over the flash files.
-One is version 11.3.31.222, the other two show version 11,3,300,268
-Disable the odd version (11.3.31.222) and reload the flash content

This seems to fix it for the time being.

Hope this helps track down this bug.

That seems to be working for most.

Mine also stopped working for a few days, then it just started working again...

I honestly thought it was just my audio settings, hmmm.
