Recently started using Chrome, but I'm getting so fed up with the tooltips popping up when I roll over links.

They even show up from my bookmark bar, but they wont go away. They just get stuck in the middle of my page until I minimise and restore the page.

Any ways to turn tooltips off?

Can't say I've come across that mate..

Remove it and re-install

Chuck 'adblock' on there for good measure, and choose Easylist

It's doing it with my laptop and desktop, so I think it's just a bug with the latest build.

It's a bug with the last couple of developer builds. The developer builds are pre-beta so odd bugs like this (or worse) are to be expected.

Do you know which version is a normal release? I just grabbed the latest build from filehippo.

Have you sync'd your installs to your account? Could be a bug in one of your settings that is transferring to the other machine..

Two builds have the bug you are talking about

Google Chrome 11.0.696.3 Beta
Google Chrome 11.0.696.0 Beta

There has been a new build released on filehippo now which has fixed the problem :)

Google Chrome 11.0.696.12 Beta

The releases on Filehippo are mainly dev/beta builds. If you want the current stable release go to the link vertica has posted.

Sorry for this but

Give Iron a go, it's like Chrome but better. :)

In what way is it better? I have installed Iron before & it had features missing from Chrome?

Ignore this advice. Iron is for people who are scared Google is assimilating them. If one actually takes a few minutes to research and see what information of yours get sent from Chrome to Google... you would just stick with Chrome, trust me.

latest stable release is available from....Google! shock horror :p

http://www.google.com/chrome

I tried that :p Didn't think to uninstall my current version though :o
