Google Clips camera released in US for $ 249

A low resolution $250 camera with a tiny 16GB of storage. Perhaps one of the least exciting products to hit the market since the Nikon D7500.

Another way to fill the world with even more crap photo's nobody will ever look at or care about might as well just get cctv!

I'll admit it's not looking like a great product (of course Sesevans loves it already being a Google product) but I would disagree CCTV is an alternative.

What the hell does this do that any other mid range action cam doesn't do better and cheaper and if I'm reading this right it's nothing but an extended .GIF generator is it not?
Seems Google is filling a gap that doesn't exist, I also noticed Sesevans linked to a positive review well to balance how about a negative one below to balance the view:

To sum up:
  • Too expensive
  • Poor image quality
  • Doesn’t record sound
  • Redundant with your phone

Not that I'm disagreeing that it might not be a good product, but I wouldn't liken it to an action camera.

To answer your question of what it does differently, in theory you position it somewhere watch you/your kids/the neighbours and it decides using 'machine learning' what interesting video clips to save. I don't think any action cameras do that?
