A bunch of our guys at work use Google Earth but since the standard OS here is STILL Win2k (yeah, I know...) they have to use v4.3

This has worked fine up until last week, where there's now a line pretty much through the middle of the UK - on the right of this everything is fine and images render as you'd expect, on the left of this line (which extends the whole way around the globe) you can't see any images, although the place names and markers still show.

This has happened on all the machines on the estate that run v4.3, and on some XP machines running v4.3 too. I've updated the XP machines to the latest version (v6) which is fine, but Win2k will not run this so they're stuffed. Google suggest that Win2k will run v5 but having tried it on two Win2k laptops it doesn't seem to, you just get errors then it crashes.

I'm assuming Google have changed the way it provides the pics to a client requesting them, and that v4.3 no longer supports this way?

Is this immediately at startup? If so have you tried deleting all the cache files from the GE Application Data path?

The installer runs (on a freshly imaged test laptop) and seems to be ok, but once you try and run the app you get a Memory Exception error.

I tried it on another Win2K box and the same thing happens - also had never previously had GE installed.

Will try wiping the App Data path and see what happens...
