Anyone else noticed the fade-in that google is doing now? it reminds me of dodgy java scripting that was on almost every page circa 2000 with an overload of fading, awful graphical rotating java cubes and frames.

Leave the damn page alone Google, please!
:D

It hides everything until you move your mouse, looking for the stuff thats hidden presumably. There going for the stripped down look, and if you hit google.com and just type in a search that's what you get.

I don't see the point, not like it was cluttered before. I tend to use the top options and the only search in the UK option too.

i feel like this is the start of a proper change to google homepage. they are easing us into the change as so many people will throw theirs toys out of the pram and run straight to a competitor simple because it changed, but if they do small tiny changes which eventually lead to one big change then less likely for people to complain.

i don't really like what they have done at the moment but i trust it's going somewhere better.

i remember watching a vid about how google are constantly trying to reduce the size of the home page, which is why it doesn't validate. this could be a way as then hardly any characters are sent across until the mouse moves which it'll then request.

Haha.. noticed this, but as said not really a big issue; and if you're really annoyed by it do as 'suarve' has said!

If it's such a big thing for people Google have even posted a quick guide showing you how to disbale the new animation effect.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Well one of the biggest reason for people to use Google is that it's super quick to load (I love that about Google vs Yahoo / Bing / etc..) so I can understand people being annoyed when they change it. Don't think it deserves a rollyeyes, even if it does have a santa hat

I haven't actually used the Google homepage in... well, a long time. Which modern browsers don't have it built in now? :)
