I'm trying to find the average effective range of a 2.5g cell phone base station and I can't seem to find the right keywords for Google to help.

Any care to spare a few mins to help?

Thanks

Don't really know what im looking for. Best I could find is this

2. What is the range of an iBurst base station?

An iBurst base station's range extends from approximately 3km in built-up or hilly areas
Obviously thats a certain product but maybe its enough of a rough indication?

 :(

Some technologies, such as GSM, have a fixed maximum range of 40km (25 miles), which is imposed by technical limitations.
When the terrain is hilly, the maximum distance can vary from as little as 5 to 8 km (3 to 5 miles)
a carrier's coverage is a network of cell sites, each with a tower and base station controller for a range of about 10 square miles.
Any help?
