Google listings

Hi all,

Just finished my first website and stuck it on the net. I have submitted the URL to Google both through their submission form and through webmaster tools but as yet it hasn't been crawled. Any idea how long this normally takes?

Anything else that could affect the time it takes to crawl?

Anywhere from 1 day to never . The more sites linking to it the quicker it'll get found, so if you have any friends with websites ask them to stick a link to it on theirs.

Still, even when Google does know it exists you probably won't be anywhere near page one for even vaguely popular search terms.
