Google - lost settings

Since Google has introduced it's new interface, Ihave lost the option to "open search results in a new window".
I don't seem to have the search settings any more from where I can click the option. Any ideas please.
BTW. I am logged in to Google with username & password.

Cog icon - Search settings?

Where the options used to exist under the cog icon as you say. There is only help there now otherwise it is empty.
