Google mail to Btmail

I run Btinternet and Bt mail through Thunderbird but also have a google email account - I lost a google email which was important so looked at forwarding Google mail to BTmail. - doing a google (my google foo is poo) I came up with loads going BTmail to Google but not other way round - I can do it with my Tesco email to BTmail- so what have I missed .

Sorted after I posted - always the same as I usually miss the obvious. Then went to bed because it didn't work - forgot to press confirm-
