So i had a job interview recently, and everything went perfect.

A received a skills test brief and completed it accordingly.

Went to attach my files to the email and they were too large.

I stuck them in a ZIP folder and attached to the email and sent it off.

Now.....

It has been moved from my Outbox, howeverhas yet to enter my Sent Box, does this mean that my email is still in the process of being sent OR has it just not been sent at all?

Deadline in tomorrow at 9am, and i had my work completed and emailed last night.

Hopefully im just impatient and panicking about it.

Any comments would be appreciated.

How bigs the zip folder? IIRC i think last time i checked gmail allows upto 20mb attachments.

Not sure what you're using for your emails but in mine if they haven't been sent (or have failed to send) they get put in the drafts section.

Also with a large attachment it could be taking a while to send. But i would say if it doesn't get put in your sent box then i'd presume it didn't send correctly.

Size - 21.8Mb :(

My thoughts also, checked my drafts and nothing in.

Will attempt to send two different zip files in two different emails, should fix it this way :(

Cheers, feeling slightly better with myself. Had this hassle and then found my motherboard which i received today has to be RMA'd :confused::(

With GMail you can bypass the restriction by enabling the send as feature where you enter your ISP's (or other personal mail) SMTP server and it sends all mails via that but still goes from you and replies back to you.

Might be worth a check!

Download 7-zip and use ZIP mode in 'Ultra' compression

Normal zip programs will still be able to unzip it

-Make sure you select ZIP and not 7z

Even if you get GMail to send it, it might not be received. A lot of admins have the max email size set lower, such as 10MB.

Id split it into multiple emails, followed up with a pure text email asking them to acknowledge the receipt of X number of emails from you.
