Hi everyone,
for the last few weeks when i plug my phone into the car and pull up google maps I have a problem. The maps come up fine on the car and it shows my position correctly, but every time I push the speak button and ask the car to drive me to a location it gives me options as if I'm in the center of London...ie today I asked it to drive me to Screwfix, which is 10 mins away, but there are 2 in oppositite directions, but with roadworks wanted to know which one was quicker to get too...option that came up was central London, being 0.9miles away, whereas I'm in Woking...same for getting to Tesco in Weybridge, and the road was closed so asked for new directions, to be directed to tesco extra on regents street, 0.3miles away...but of course if agree it changes to proper distance and 59 min drive....I can't seem to find any settings to correct this...anyone else having a similar issue?

I had something similar, where if I asked for, say "nearest petrol station", it would route to the nearest petrol station...to my house. Which was very nice, except at the time, I was 100 miles away at my parents. I believe this has come up for other people as well.
Try looking at this Reddit post, and try the solution about turning off location services. I think the understanding is that it's using location services to determine where you are, rather than just the current location of the phone. I think I have done this on my phone, but to be honest, I haven't tested it since I switched the setting, so not sure if it works.

thanks, got me thinking anyway and deleted all app data/cleared cache...will try again in car later...realised been happenning since last updated phone, so hoping clearing everything might reset it...just confusing works fine unplugged, not fine while plugged into car, and showing my correct position. If that fails, I'll try the location services, though gave a warning that lots of things wont work if I turn it off, so will try as last resort
