Google Maps - How doyou do this....

Knowing nothing about Google Map API's, how easy/difficult is it to do something like this but using another object other than Wi-Fi spots?
E.g using Google Maps to point to/display all the churches in Norwich with a map pin then when you mouseover it you get the streetview image of it?

You just need a google account and use the 'My Maps' function.
