Google Maps problem

The last week I have had a problem where Google Maps starts OK but within 10 seconds all detail disappears except rivers etc. No roads are shown and only when I get to about 4 inch to the mile do roads appear.
I am not aware of any reason for this except Flash and Windows updates.
I am running W7 HP and my PC only uses the onboard video chip. This I thought may have been the problem except the maps are OK on Firefox portable but not on my installed IE.

could always try resetting IE back to its default settings and see if this helps.

go to control panel and then click on internet options. once in there click on advanced and press the restore advanced settings and the reset button below that
