Anyone else get prob's with Google Maps?

Sometimes it's nice and quick and efficient other times it takes forever and then says that it doesn't have the imagery available at that magnification, despite having shown that level of zoom before.

Same whether its on maps or satellite imagery etc; just wondered if anyone else has the same problem.

Try MSN Live Maps, they're generally better at the moment.

Though Google have said they're looking at getting most of the UK done at a high def level in the next couple of years.

Try MSN Live Maps,

LiveMaps doesn't allow you to freely browse the globe anymore. You must type in an actual Business followed by a location. Which then gives a small map containing the businesses in the area.

There's also a lot of missing information on Google maps though, especially anywhere that doesn't include the major towns and cities.

Their both crap now tbh.

Google hasn't got worse, just hasn't improved dramatically. Rather than getting everywhere to a high level, they improve some places repeatedly leaving others untouched.

Go and take a look at Israel, try Jerusalem or Tel Aviv and see what you think of that detail! :p

 No blurry squares anywhere! Impressive.

Yeah. I found the quality and information on Live Maps was far greater.

What are you talking about?

Your free to move around, zoom in and out, switch to 3D mode and use the Birds Eye View Mode anywhere that has the pictures.

For the UK LiveMaps is much better than Google.

I'd say if your looking at the States, then Google probably edges it simply because of the amount of quirky features they have (e.g. Street View)

Doesn't look like that?

You need a Microsoft plugin of some kind perhaps?

Doesn't work for me. On the main page - all it has is 2 search boxes? No option to view freely. After searching, theirs no option to switch to satellite either.

What browser/os are you using?

I get exactly what gumbald has used above.

Get that in work, at home... heck every where I've tried it

Maybe it's a Mac thing. I've never been on it on my MB, can't vouch for it. Anyone with some power in their Mac can verify?

Firefox on OS X (Tiger) works. Safari doesn't. Can't say I'm surprised by that - I've come across a few sites that Safari does odd things with (which is why I install Firefox everywhere - Mac, Windows, Linux - got 'em all).

I've googled it and it appears to be a rather big problem with Opera users, and none Windows based OS users (Mac/Linux).

Don't think you can fix it.

Apparently Opera users can tell Opera to mimic IE but it's hit and miss whether or not the maps will load at all.
