Afternoon all,
Has anyone given Google Music a try using the Tor Method?

From what i understand you create the account via Tor with a US Endpoint, then after that its just "on" your account - is that correct?

My only reservations is hacking it into my Google account could mess up my Google account if they release it over here.

How does Music itself handle it?
As i was pondering giving it a try with one of my secondary Google accounts...

Thanks.

I had tried this and i cannot for the love of money get it working.

Even opened up another account and still cannot get it to work.

Tried the Tor method and a few other ones too.

So if you get it working let me know :)

Been using it for probably a year now and it works fine, only negative is the app won't update itself to the latest version but that no hassle, I used a program which gave me a proxy ip can't remember which though.

Ive been using it for a long time now, i cant remember if i set up a US Google account or not ?
Like I said its been a long time but Ive got about 20,000 songs uploaded to it and it still lets me buy apps from the Play store in UK £ ....sorry for being of little help :(

If you use Tor, just make sure that you can verify a US IP address. You need to then navigate to the signup page and set up the account.

If you use a Rom that doesn't have google apps (such as Cyanogenmod), the latest Gapps has the newest version of Google Music :)

Tho, tbh, I prefer the older version as a few context-menu options are missing now.

i signed up just the other week seems to be working fine for me.

used this http://www.tunnelbear.com/

free to sign up and you get 500mb a month usage and all you have to do is download there aplication to the pc flick there swich to active on screen and select US then use your normal browser.

Signed up via Tor, works fine. As mentioned already, make sure you get a US proxy before going to Google Music.

Upload music from home to listen to at work, neato :)

Just thought I'd say I've been using Google Music for about a month now, on my PC and Android and love it.
About 8 of 1000 songs didn't work when uploading my library to the cloud player. Finding out those 8 is a complete ball ache because it doesn't tell you which ones they are.

Aside from that the Music Manager is great, just plop any new MP3's I download/purchase into my music folder and Google sync's it to my account. I can access the player on any computer anywhere by signing into my account. Proxy stuff is just needed for the initial sign up.

The andriod app is nice as well and will stream all of your songs from the cloud. You can select individual songs or playlists to be downloaded onto the phone via the app so that you can listen to them when offline. The app will also cache recently listened to songs so that you can play those as well when offline.

The web app has an HTML5 player which you have to turn on via the Google Labs in the settings and it's much better than the default player, don't know why they don't make the HTML5 player the default.
My only other gripe is the inability queue music which I became so used to with Grooveshark.

I signed up using Open VPN.

It doesn't mess up your account, don't worry. Actually I'm sure Google intended to make it easy for other nations to circumnavigate the "block". It's just the record labels that will be holding things up - no one likes them, including Google probably.

On my Galaxy Nexus the music streaming functionality integrates seamlessly with the default music app, Google Play Music. You can choose whether to display "offline music only" in the settings i.e. music on the flash memory, or allow it to stream music stored in your Google music account. I'd be interested to see if people who haven't signed up for Google music have this option..?

Edit: Just to explain what I meant by “integrates seamlessly”… On my HTC Desire I had to download the Google Music app, so I had the default music player PLUS the Google Music app. Now, on setting up my Galaxy Nexus, it knew that I had already signed up to the Google Music service and it gives me the ability to stream music within the default music player app. Or does buying a Galaxy Nexus automatically sign you up Google Music regardless of region? Would like to hear from Galaxy Nexus owners who have/haven’t signed up to the service. :)

Here's hoping! :)

I signed up during the beta but can't remember exactly how I did it.

I like it a lot, I've got the app on my tablet and it means I can take my entire music collection around with me, before I would have to choose which albums would go on which device etc...
I can't find the app on the store for my phone though :(
