Hey all

Been having this niggling issue which I can't seem to fix permentantly. I upgraded my Spofity account to a duo account, so that my parents could enjoy music on their Google Nest Audio speaker. I also put Spotify on their phone for them so they can cast to the speaker if they want etc. All good. Apart from the fact it randomly starts playing my music instead, and we end up fighting as it stops playing from my playlist, and I end up with Greatest 60s playing out. lol.

The Nest is setup with my parents email/their account. And we can all obviously see the speaker in our Google Home app. Spotify on my PC is logged in as me. Yet for some reason something (I'm guessing the Google speaker) seems to ignore this and starts grabbing control from my account? I get the green bar at the bottom showing it has changed over.

Has anyone else had similar?

I don't know if I should reach out to Spotify or Google?! What seems to help is just resetting the Google Nest and setting it up fresh but that doesn't last.

Something isn't honouring the two accounts correctly.

Cheers.

Have you got both yourself and your parents within the household? With voice match setup for both?

Hey, sorry for late reply. So just double checked and yeah we both have voice match turned on. But I don't understand why when my parents speak, it randomly uses my Spotify subscription and not their own? I guess I could unlink my Spotify account and that would stop the issue. I can still ask the speaker questions but it'll always just use my parents Spotify link. That might work.

Just tried that as a quick test and that seems better. No need for me to have mine linked tbh so that looks like it'll work fine. :)
