You can record 4 different sections by clicking on the meters above the record and play buttons. As you select the next one, as record it plays the previous one as well.

In windows 7 you can independantly mute programs. You done that by any chance on whatever browser your using? Check your mixer!

I had the same problem with chrome, had to use firefox/ie. I checked in my mixer to and couldn't seem to see any problem
