My google pixel 3a has ramdomly bricked.

Fine this morning, charged it and went out. Went to take it out my pocket to check the time and it was totally dead. Tried to charge it and nothing.

From a quick google it seems many people are getting bricked pixel 3s in the past few weeks. Techradar have a small article about it which was posted 4 days a go and gsmarena has had many comments on the same thing.

Anyone had similar or know a fix? For so many going wrong at the same time sounds like a software update issue.

Your bricked phone sounds different from the 3 reports, those phones are bootlooping into an emergency Qualcomm download mode.

As for yours, does holding the power button work? Tried leaving it on the charger for the whole night and see if that works?

From reading on reddit etc, others too are just black screen dead.

Holding power / volume, or just power does nothing. Tried charging for several hours and nothing either.

It had a good amount of charge when died.

This may sound weird but on one of my old Huawei phones I bricked due to messing with root stuff (totally lifeless), if you put it under a super bright light then did the power button+vol key it turned on. Total bs I thought but worked, so I guess the light sensor had something to do with it.

Did, only to find out I am 2 months outside of warranty :(

I asked them about all the reports recently of 3s randomly dying, however, they side stepped that one a few times.

Instead Google quoted £284 + VAT for the repairs, which is a joke.

Yikes thats steep for an old phone.
