That's great thanks guys, will give those suggestions a try. I bought mum a cheap honor x6b phone to tide her over and have an appt at ismash on Friday as the ebay seller is not willing to help with anything, no surprise there.
Took the phone to Ismash and the repair guy confirmed that the logic board is dead. He tried sticking in a new battery and nothing, says that the voltage jumps to 1.4 to 0 and back and forth.Just a random one guys , not sure if anyone can help.
I bought a pixel 6 for mum from Ebay at Christmas and it was described as excellent condition ex display unit and to be fair it was in perfect nick brand new practically.
Mum let it drain to 0% few days ago and it shut off, since then it refuses to charge, turn on or anything. It's basically dead.
I've tried pretty much everything I've read on the internet, different chargers, multiple different button combinations, leaving it charged for hours etc but it still refuses to do anything.
Could it be a case of the battery being totally fried? Or something more serious like motherboard?
I don't mind bringing it to ismash to get a new battery put in if that's what will fix it. I've messaged the Ebay fella but no response yet.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any help.
Thank you mate will give that a read@nitram100

Thanks mate, have started a paypal report as the seller is completely ignoring me. Will see how it goes! Thanks for the help. You're best checking with ebay, have you raised a complaint with them?

Thanks mate will give them a buzz today.Probably better doing it via Ebay (Resolution Centre) instead of Paypal, Ebay and Paypal are now totally different companies.
Paypal these days are only the payment handler and you will probably find that they'll do nothing (as they did for me in a similar case last Nov).
I then raised the case with Ebay and got resolved there pretty well actually.
A subset of Pixel 6a phones will require a mandatory software update to reduce the risk of potential battery overheating. The update will enable battery management features that will reduce capacity and charging performance after the battery reaches 400 charge cycles. We’ll contact impacted customers next month, with all the information they need to address the issue.

Warning: Google will soon nerf the Pixel 6a’s battery due to an overheating issue
If you have a Pixel 6a, be warned: You may need to replace the battery as Google is warning of a potential battery overheating issue.www.androidauthority.com
I've had the email to from Google about my 6a, had it 3 years now. So I think I will take the $150 Google store credit and trade my phone in as well for £84. Plus I can get 10% off Google store with blue light. So an early birthday present I think.
Might send mine into CEX wondering if they can detect its one of the faulty battery ones? Mines on 344 recharge cycles might get away with it as the forced battery update shouldn’t activate on the phone until 400 recharge cycles.
Thinking about it they've only got to check the IMEI on google to see if its affected and been paid out so probably no trade in value?
Does this battery issue affect the Pixel 6 as well, or just the 6a's?
