The extra cost is all about AI, with a "free" year of Gemini Premium.
... I have yet to find Gemini useful at all...
Nor have I, and id imagine it'll come in the 8 anyway like everything else that has been exclusive in the past.
Their ai stuff will eventually become 'free' or it'll never take off anyway.

Definitely the way to go in my opinion. Traded my 6 pro for an 8 pro for a total outlay of £364. Can't really argue at that.

Definitely one of my main reasons for buying. Probably will keep at least three years and will have plenty of updates left, so should still carry some value.

To be fair I've had the 7 Pro and the 8 Pro the past 2 years (7 is my wife's), I've never paid RRP when pre-ordered as part of a contract.

Was hoping the Watch 3 would have the dual OS feature like the OP watch, but seems it doesn't. Only still advertised as 24h. I'm leaning more towards the Samsung now, but if the 9 offers a deal with the watch 3 like the 8 series did, then I'll go with the Pixel.

I don't think the 9 offers much more than a radical new design and maybe some AI stuff.
If you can find a really good deal on the 8 pro, I'd go for it. The Currys one is particularly good at the moment.
