Great news. Google Play Store has come through big time!

My Pixel XL 32 GB arrived by MAIL this morning. I had email yesterday afternoon saying package shipped out and to allow 2-4 business days. Well it was 1 business day, even less than 1.

Unboxing NOW. My Live Case with my personalised photo is still expected to be delivered 4-8 November so will have to be super careful with phone until then.

I'm getting frustrated with their customer service. Every individual I speak to has different information.

About 2 weeks back. Whole order was a minefield. Ordered silver, had a text saying silver was delayed so called them to switch to black. Lady I spoke to said I failed this and that on their checks and cancelled the order and refunded me!

Received another email about 4pm yesterday saying that my order was about to be dispatched. So called them asking what the hell was going on, spoke a bloke who sorted everything out for me, changed the order to black and said it would be ready for collection today!

Phone and case? Does not compute. My phones don't go anywhere near a case, lucky to get a screen protector.

It's interesting. Many of the complaints about these phones were the "specification/price balance".
It is the reason I decided not to replace my Nexus 5 with one as I felt it was far too expensive for a phone of this specification - an opinion echoed by many.

But ladies and gentlemen, this thread alone shows why Google can release at this price and why it will not flop.

For the fastest Android experience and tbh, excellent specs, it is a worthy investment. My only complaints are the lack of waterproofing and the unnecessarily large top and bottom bezels. If you're not going to put capacitive buttons, at least shrink the bottom bezel!

Anybody that's received theirs from CPW, was the google play voucher preloaded or did you get one of those gift card things?

I was told it would be preloaded but when I collected mine they gave me a £50 gift card. Haven't had a chance to check but I'm hoping CPW have been kind again and given me an extra £50 voucher.

And it begins..... Shock, horror that some of us treat ourselves to something we like the look of no matter how much it costs. This is not a Nexus device anymore and thus marketed differently.
Pretty sure I could find things you bought that I'd find overpriced. Different strokes for different folks and all that

Yep, I'm not keen on the price increase but if it's a more premium product than the 6P then it's less of a problem. It seems from the reviews it is, but I haven't got mine yet. If it isn't worth it, I'll send it back.

I would say that the 6P is just as premium of a product as the pixel, if not more. The only real advantage the pixel has over the 6P is the camera and it's not like the 6P camera is bad in the first place + supposedly the preview for 7.1 is bringing a lot of the camera improvements to the 6P/5X.

Haven't had a chance to play around with it but it's certainly not as ugly as it looks in the pictures. If they cut that chin down a bit it would be much nicer though.

Had it for all of 5 minutes.

So far, love the build quality - feels more solid than my old 6P.

Very fast and responsive. Screen is fabulous.

Good size in the hand, slightly smaller than S7 Edge
