I've inherited a Sonos set up in my new place which is absolutely fantastic. Even better now that it supports Google Play Music.
The problem is that it seems to utterly rinse my phone's battery. Is this because my phone is technically 'sending' that stream to the Sonos constantly? Would a Chromecast somehow help? I was under the impression that the Chromecast actually takes the stream itself and therefore doesn't use your phone/controller's battery anywhere near as much.
So can you go phone > Chromecast > Sonos > Amp somehow?
I'd say I could just do Phone > Chromecast > Amp but we have a second speaker in the corridor and ones on the terrace as well, so it needs to go via the Sonos.
