Can someone reassure me that there is a quicker way of downloading my music than album by album? This is slaying me, I don't have the time or energy to tap download on my hundreds of albums individually. :(

Create the playlist on desktop, then go to your phon and download the playlist.

You don't need to play the music via the playlist you can just browse to any music/album and it will be already downloaded.

Ah OK, thanks. Creating a playlist just seemed like a ghetto way of doing it but if that's how its done then fair enough. :o

How is there not a 'download all music' button though? It's the least sense I've ever in android!

Google Play Music has hugely improved recently, it seems much quicker and more responsive.

I just wish you could default it to going to Artists view.

It seems really good, apart from that and the not being able to download everything from the device. I'm in the trial period still but may just keep it.

my phone/tablet storage is way smaller than my music library - a download all button would be used by very few people (and there's an easy way to achieve it) so seems like a pointless addition....

I disagree. I have plenty of space on the phone, I was just planning on not bothering to download it all as I'm sat at a desk all day so can stream anyway. As it turns out, work internet isn't quite good enough. Now I find myself not wanting to copy files direct from pc in case it gives me duplicates (hello itunes) but unable to download it all in a proper manner.

I'll just use the download manager to delete what's downloaded and just make a playlist I guess. :)

Well, have found another annoyance in that if I want to listen to music on my PC in lunch break (better sound than phone) I'm SOL as you can't download anything to a computer. :D

When was that Apple Music app coming to android again?

Use the Play Music website.

You're going to think I'm trying to live up to my username now, but the website isn't working. Kept saying it couldn't play any songs, now it won't even load my library. It works just dandy on my phone, now that I'm home and have many better sound sources.

That wouldn't have helped earlier as the state of my work internet is why I wanted to download in the first place.

Well have added the playlist(s), which happens to be limited to 1,000 songs. Just to clarify, if I download Sone One, and then add the same song into a playlist and download that, do I now have duplicates or is GM smart enough to know?

If you install the play music uploader on to the computer, you can download all from there but can't sync it.

Thanks, I've just noticed that, the one for mac wasn't all that clear at first. It's all screwed up tbh, now on my phone some songs are showing as not downloaded when they have been amongst other random things. I'll probably end up nuking it all and starting again. :)

Do you know what happens if you upload the same thing twice? If it doesn't give duplicates then syncing will be easy as I can just drag the whole folder to upload every time and skip the old ones.
