Google Results and Ads

Recently my Google Results page looks a bit different. Ads seem far more "disguised" as normal results - sometimes some that look like ads appear at the top followed by some more that I think are ads disguised as results.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Install ublock origin.

a) Something malicious is manipulating your search results
b) You have 3rd-party cookies enable so you're seeing enhanced search results
c) Something else

Disable 3rd-party cookies and then see if it makes a difference.

It turned out to be a chrome extension for uploading pictures to imgur.

A recent nasty little update included some adware.
