google searches syncing between devices...

So basically anything I google search for on my Mac comes up in my recent searches in google on my iPhone 6. iCloud > Safari is set to off on both devices so why is this happening.

I want to turn it off. I remember it happening in the past and Safari iCloud was turned on, but obviously that isn't the issue this time.

Signed into the same Google account on both devices? If so there's a setting in your account somewhere about what to sync.
