I remember fairly recently (think it was when Man City were still at Maine Road), they had a vote or something for renaming one of the stands. One of ex-players was Colin Bell, therefore the part of the stadium in question could have been called the 'Bell End'.

It was a legitimate option as you say because of Colin Bell, the vote was massively tampered with by Utd fans, in the hope it would become the Bell End. As it is the West Stand at Eastlands is the Colin Bell Stand.
