Does anyone actually use this? I completely forgot it existed until a friend reminded me. Is it a shame it hasn't took off or is there a reason?

I don't think it really offers anything that WLM doesn't. I have a gmail account and installed Google talk briefly, but didn't see the point.

Also don't forget that people t have to be invited to gmail? Anybody can sign up to get onto WLM.

I'd use it, but the problem is I wouldn't be able to get all of my Messenger contacts to move over with me. So I'd be left talking to myself. :(

i use it occasionally but its too simple and dosn't have features like msn or yahoo. its crap really but it does the job for chats only

I use Google Talk regularly because it is lightweight and works pretty well; it's my main IM client. I find the voice quality better than MSN or Yahoo Messenger. The main drawback ofcourse is that the standalone client has no video capability.

I like it, but only a few people use GoogleMail that I know. The people who do, we always run it through Google Chrome in the background when our PCs are on. Really useful.

Google talk is built into the gmail inbox page now. I find it useful to talk to some contacts I have added. I used to have the installed version like MSN, but as people say...that never really took off. MSN already hold that candle.

I don't use it because I talk with my contacts on google through Gmail itself, it works AWESOMELY meaning no need at all for the standalone client itself.

Youtube videos are inline too.
