Google Wifi & BT Home Hub

I've just switched to BT from Sky, and I had it working nicely with Google Wifi. Google was connected to a switch and the Sky router. No modem mode, so I just disabled DHCP and wifi on ISP router.

The problem with this setup on BT is the NowTV channels don't work on the BT TV box, despite Google Wifi supporting multicast. This is how I had SkyQ set up, without issue. I've had to plug a cable into the BT Hub and gave the TV box a static IP to get them working.

I'm getting weird network connection issues now and I'm not sure why. iPhones and MacBooks lose connection but it works when I switch their wifi off and on more often than not. I haven't noticed any issues with wired devices so far. My work VPN is unusable on wifi, can't stay connected for longer than a few minutes at best. I've switched the wifi on the BT Hub back on and it's fine on that, connected for hours.

I'm pretty certain I've cocked something up, but I don't get why it worked fine with Sky, but not with BT. Anyone got a similar setup?
