Has it just stopped finding any results for the rest of you?

Not matter what I search for it comes back with nothing.

Code:
Your search - overclockers - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

    * Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
    * Try different keywords.
    * Try more general keywords.

Your search - anything at all - did not match any documents.

It was a serious suggestion, just silly text! :p

If it loaded then obviously something wrong at your end interface where you actually type into the search bar.

This is weird.

"Internet" works (About 1,510,000,000 results (0.31 seconds) )

"Cheese, bread, milk, boobs, router, computer, clouds, supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus" etc find nothing

Open up a command prompt (start > type cmd ) and ping Google (ping www.google.co.uk) - what does it say?

You can save the output to your desktop (to make it easier to copy here) by doing:
cd Desktop
ping www.google.co.uk > results.txt

(I used Pingplotter instead)

Well the IP belongs to Google so that looks fine. Have you tried a different browser?

IE8 works.. I should have tried that first but the problem started so suddenly I assumed it affected us all.

I guess FF has developed an issue. Cheers for the help.

Have a look what extensions or toolbars you have installed - one could be hijacking it.

Close Firefox and then in the start menu type firefox -p and try creating a new Firefox profile (run firefox -p again to get back to your normal one) and see if that works.

"firefox -p" did the trick. It now finds results again.

Did that create a new profile then? Do I need to swap back or do anything else?

You'll probably have two profiles now (stick %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ into the start menu and you'll see them listed). You can use the new one if you want- but you won't have your bookmarks etc from your previous profile this way (though you can import them).

It sounds like a rogue extension/toolbar is the cause of the problem though, could you list al the ones you have (or take a screenshot) on your broken profile?

Weird.. I closed Firefox, entered "firefox -p" into the start bar/search bar and Firefox opened. Google now works fine but my bookmarks are still there.

Everything works though so I'm happy. Thanks a lot for your help.

Edit - %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ only shows one profile. Perhaps I didn't do the first command properly but whatever I did it's now working fine again.
