Maybe it's old, maybe it's not, maybe there's a thread already on it - who knows!

But Google now searches as you type! Amazing! Pretty sure it's new for today - at least, I didn't notice it yesterday.

Might get some shock results if you're searching for something that starts with a dirty word though.
 
He doesn't mean typing suggestions, he means actual search results.

It's been doing it for a few days IIRC.

Someone also made one for youtube, which is even more annoying.
 
It's been doing it for a while, you can turn it off in your settings page when signed in.

It ****ing sucks. Incredibly annoying, it went asap.
 
Indeed.

I think it detracts from the whole Google ethos that made it so good in the first place. Simplicity was king, this serves very little purpose, certainly for me.
 
I find it "freezes" quite a lot, and you have to refresh google to do another search. A bit annoying having to refresh to do a fresh search every time.
 
I really like it, suits the way i search. If i don't quickly find what im looking for on the first page i refine my search terms rather than start paging and diving into lots of sites.

Google instant is create for refining your search.
