Afternoon gentlemen and ladies of overclockers. I need a brand new, uber leet ******* hax0r gaming pc (Dramatic Effect). And i need your help !!!!! If you could spec me something tasty for no more than £1250 (Will review that situation if worth it :P) I really want a Quad Core (Future Proof IMO) and a nice 22" or 24" monitor, and an Antec 900 and preferably some Nvidia Creation, perhaps that strange new 9800 GX2

Could get a nice one for that money i suppose, depending on if you need new peripherals,etc. But bugger me, it's not long after lunch and pricing a high spec PC is too much effort :)

Off top of my head:

A yorkfield Quad-core (the 2.5ghz is like £200)
Tuniq Tower fan
Asus P5E X38 DDR2 motherboard
2x2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC6400 RAM
Corsair VX620 (i think) PSU
Coolermaster Cosmos or Antec P182 case
Western Digital caviar Hard-drive, whatever size.
Samsung 226BW monitor

Graphics Card? Depends if you want Sli, mines pretty good, your preference.

Word of warning, Antec 900 case sounds like Heathrow, with extra Polish thrown in for good measure. It's loud.
 
TBH sound doesnt really bother me because i allways wear a headset etc, oh and i forgot to mention i won't need any keyboard and mouse, (I have a G15 and Razer Lachesis) although a new headset could be quite nice.

On the GRFX card front, i have no preference to Sli or not, i just want the best for the cash i have got. Of course if you can reccommend something in particular that would be greatly appreciated
 
Oooh, i was looking at the Lachesis, ended up going with the copperhead which i should get delivered tomorrow.

With the motherboard i mentioned, it's crossfire, but i personally think dual-cards are a pain at the moment, so it doesn't matter. Get that new dual GPU nvidia one then if you can afford it, else the 3870X2, else further cheaper get a 8800 GTS.

Yh i love my razer, i have got preety big hands so it fits nicely, and it looks gorgeous next to my G15, it's like a disco in my room when the lights are down. :P :P :P
 
Wait until you get that Antec 900 case, you won't need a light switch. I got small slim hands, so the copperhead seemed a better choice, plus i'm a fingertip user, the mouse never touches my hand.
 
lol yh ive seen some of my mates 900's and it is like a rave in your room, and ahhh a dirty fingertip user lol :P

You got xfire, we should game sometime and ill spank you with my full hand mouse action
 
Never used xfire, cos i was always a MMO player,with FPS's on the side and have had a little break as i refused to play the new games until my beast arrived.

But sure,when my copperhead arrives tomorrow night i'll give your hand a run through it's paces!! :).

The fan on the top, is huge on that case. Each has a Low,med,high switch, i set the all to high now can't find the switches ha. Going to get the G15 too next month probably, got a complete blue LED combo then!

sure im up for that, i dont play many mmo's but i like me FPS' hehe. COD4, CSS etc etc. I have teamspeak and xfire installed if u tell me ** details some time lol

K sound. Buying COD4 tomorrow for when i get my mouse, it's well good been playing a copy to try it out, got CSS ain't played it for a bit, IF i can login to steam, as my dad's using my account lol, hopefully he completes HL2 soon! Crysis is fun.
 
24" is noticeable in size and price.

I'll be getting the samsung 22" probably, 226BW cos it's like £50 cheaper.
 
ah yes that very popular samsung jobby, its just i heard really gd things about the OCUK 24" so was wondering whether i should just take the plunge lol

Personally, with electronics, i never go with own brands, but that's just me. I know for a fact Samsung have never let me down, same as Asus, so i stick with those. But that's just me.

goose :

the ocuk seems to be well liked for price and performance from comments i've seen, got a gtx which will handle it ok if you really want to go with it.
