Alright, I know this is technically a 'daytime' show but I've set my PVR up to record them and it's actually pretty good. I got bored of his more recent shows -- far too much 'drama' and things that took the emphasis away from cooking. Each show has a theme and a number of recipes to put them into practice. It's obviously his take on Jamie's 30 minute meals, so it's a bit patronising in places but there's a lot of ideas. My girlfriend bought me the book so I'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes.

We did the fish pie last night and it was pretty damn good! (For a girly fish pie :p). I just watched him do a NY rasberry cheesecake which I will definitely be trying!

Oh, has anyone noticed that he seems to cook absolutely everything in olive oil? Even things at a super high heat, such as steak. I wonder why he doesn't use veg oil or groundnut etc

Anyone else watching it?

Not watched them yet but my old man is addicted to the show. He has been writing down all the tips and tricks.

I have noticed that it is on YT, so will have a peek at some tonight.

Yup it's a well made series, lots of good tips between the recipes. I think the book might be good for the bookshelf (xmas present ahoy).

I'm trying the slow cooked pork belly with fennel tomorrow.

Yeah, a couple of the ideas have been pretty good.

I'm also watching it rather religiously. Tend to watch it at 5 on 4 and then at 6 on 4+1.....

Some of the tips really are obvious, but some are quite good.

Book is on xmas list xD

The slow cooked pork is cooking now, will be finished at 9pm. It smells amazing. I'm doing chips & greens with it.
Awesome, post pics! I just watched the one with slow cooked short ribs. I think that's my Sunday sorted - as long as my butcher stocks them! :D

EDIT: It's really bugging me how he uses olive oil to cook everything now. Why use olive oil in a thai curry? That's just wrong! Argh!

Awesome, post pics!

Ok sorry for the bad photo but I was more interested in eating it than photographing it...

This is the slow cooked pork with homemade chips & greens, bit of a 'pile' and a lot of effort for a Tuesday night...

Flavour of the fennel & stock sauce was brilliant, and the skin of the pork was perfectly crispy with a slight chewiness too. Will definitely do it again. I had to add more water halfway through, so keep an eye on slow cooking sauces.

I tried the smoky pork sliders (with the homemade BBQ sauce). I think it took me about an hour to get drag myself off the ceiling afterwards, they were that good.
