What about a rear polyester filter? Bit more fiddly, but lots cheaper. Unfortunately I only know where to get a Wratten 87 without importing - most people prefer the less dense 89B (although I prefer the 87 ) Anyhoo, you can get a sheet of Wratten 87 for about £20 delivered.
