Got 500 Quid....

I have the rig as in my signature. It was a bit noisy so I just bought a Zalman 8000 cooler and the Arctic 5 Gfx cooler. Its still noisy(can only be the PSU), it has also just started to crash on start up. So I guess the PSU is on the way out.

There are a few other problems with it so I am looking to rebuild. I am looking to get a fast quiet Machine with 500quid utilising any or all of the bits i already have, any bits left over will be sold so we can add that to the cash pot. :) Its for surfing and playing WoW.

I can't get my head round overclocking these days so I'll just use stock settings, but if it has the ability to OC at a later date then that would be good. Its either that or buy a prebuilt rig from AN other company!!

I thought with the price drops on CPUs and RAM I could get some good upgrades :)

I was looking at the SG03/TJ08 cases but if you have any other suggestions/opinions/flames they will be gladly listened to :)

TY in advance.

If you don't go for the Shuttle, then i'd recommend keeping the Sugo for your next build, and looking at something like the Core 2 Duo E6300 with a board like the Abit Fatality, or the new Gigabyte DS2 mATX board (when it launches).

For £500, to keep it in budget you could take the GeIL 2GB DDR2 kit (about £60), maybe pop something like an X1950 Pro in, and a nice Corsair HX520 PSU (I have the 620W version and it's totally silent).

Then it's down to HDD, optical drive, and a cooler like the CNPS8000 (or the NT-06).

Should make a nice little system. :)

I got the Shuttle :) Thanks Supercow! Looking forward to the build. The Sugo is not the Evo so thought a wee change was the way forward, I have always fancied a Shuttle.

I'm a bit out of touch with these things so excuse me if it seems like a hand holding exercise. :)

1) Which of the Crossfire pros should I go for? I see there are a few. Will it make a huge difference over the X850 I have?

2) I would like to get it rigged for wireless. Is it worth getting the shuttle PN18 or just get a generic card? I have a Netgear Wireless router.

3) Opticals....any thoughts? May as well get a Dual layer and a Rom drive.

4) Will be getting the 6300 at some point as well, since two people have recommended it. Is the stock HSF quiet?

If you get an Abit Fatal1ty Motherboard, you can also get an Abit AirPace PCI-E1x Wireless Card then buy an X1950PRO or 8600GTS.

As for an optical drive, I'd go for the Samsung SATA DVD+/-RW Lightscribe Drive for around £19 and get an E6320 instead of an E6300, better FSB! :)
