Got a Bonsai Tree... What is it?

Hey guys,

Got a Bonsai tree from a friend for Christmas. it came in the most uninformative packaging so I have no idea what species of tree it is.
Nor do I have a clue on how to keep it alive haha.
Here is a pic, can you identify it?

We have one and we just water it and give it plenty of light and warmth. Think we've had it for near enough 10 years now.

In exactly that pot actually, I think someone must have got it cheap at homebase?

You need to expose it to lots of Japanese game shows. Don't worry if it screams once in a while, that's normal.

might be an elm, you need to totaly soak the pot in water up to the base of the tre for 15mins or so f i remember right.

have a google around for basic Bonsai care, come spring you'll need to trim it as well.

Nice things to keep, i used to have a few but the dog took revenge for being ignored one year and ripped them to bits when i was letting them get some sun in the back yard

I got a chinese elm for christmas. Its not one of them by the look of it.
