Got a job in primark!

ex had a job at the new edinburgh one. Turned up for the training day and then said thanks but no thanks. I think their staff turn over is higher than any other store and like subway the nationality they hire each month changes.

I hope you don't join the levels of rude staff.

Primark = Mumsnet convention centre.

Strange place. Women seem to go back to animal instincts when they get in there. And god help on sales days. Don't offer to open the doors in the morning, you'll get trampled to death. Them doors open and civilisation goes out of the window.

well done :D

i was a manager for Primark few years back, expect slave labour style working conditions, and also remember to clock in/out using their fingerprint/hand scanner machine.

if you dont, you wont get paid.

and at the end of the day shift, hit that scanner quik style before all those polish birds, you will be there for hours otherwise

Congratulations. I don't think I would ever fair well in retail, I am just a big softy and I really can't deal with fussy mums or mouthy teenagers.

That's one of the worst posts I've seen for a while.

Glad you called me up on it tbh, reading other peoples posts made me think that actually, it was a backwards thing to say. A job is a job, if you take pride in it and are happy then good for you.

it cant be a bad job working in primark tho? its not like someones goina ask you if youve got it in a different size.
all i see the people doing there is folding up the piles and piles of clothes, just for next group of "foreigners" to chuck em about again!

6.91 is extremely well o.O

£8/hr standard rate for working for the uni :) love doing tours, earn £50 a day get given lunch and do very little for most of the day...

Shame shifts aren't too frequent..

Well done on getting a job. I work on a till and I reckon you will get less abuse than I do - I have to reject underage scallies for cigs all the time. I'm soft same as you, but just repeat the company line if anyone gives you trouble and get your supervisor over. :)

As soon as i turned 16 i got a job in Mcdonalds a lot of my school mates considered me to be a low life and have a dead end job, I am now 19 with a few basic I.T Qualifications- MCSA, MCSE, comptia A+, N+ certified, and also doing another plumbing course as a backup plan. The same people that laughed at me are working at the same Mcdonalds the one i was working at.

I HATED THE staff at that place made my life a living hell however It taught me valuable life lessons, and how to deal with IDIOTS at your workplace. Mcdonalds was a good company to work for IMO i enjoyed the fast and hard work. I cant stand people who say i aint working there or i aint working here, but complain that there broke most of the time. I think this is what is wrong with society these days.

My older cousin she studied LAW and wanted to become a solicitor i think, she got offered a JOB straight after uni which was very lucky for her the job paid only 15k starting but if you was good at your job the next year she could have been earning 50k PLUS, she didnt take it because she was looking for the 40k-50K jobs straight away. She now works in the NHS and cleans old peoples backsides, LITERALLY!

im not a softy when it comes to retail work because i worked in this enviroment all my working life if someone comes rude at me or mouths it off ima give him back but if its a women i tend to be apologetic unless shes a right old miserable cow :P

Gimme some clothes, I'm sitting here with just my undies but thats ripping to bits too.

Also

I'm getting a job as a stock manager for the Olympic games.

I'd love £6.91/hr. I work in retail and get minimum wage and I'm 29, can't afford to live on my own. Oh and no commission either, not one single bonus. No extra for bank holidays or weekends.
Only, I love what I do.
