got a little problem while playing bfbc2

hey guys,

ive got a little problem while playing bfbc2,

now my average fps are 35-40 with fraps
the game seems to lag abit when i shoot or a explosion goes off

also in the game videos the subtitles are really far behind

my cpu is a intel core 2 due E6600 @ 2.4ghz

and my gpu is a Nvidia 7950 GT 512mb 550 core 700 memory now i haven't bothered overclocking anything due to standard cooling and the gpu not worth it tbh

so which is the problem ???

I would say you need to overclock the CPU to 3ghz+ and perhaps consider a new GPU...
What is your full system specs?

Is this a new problem? or has it always occurred when playing?

If the latter then you're only option really is an upgrade, you could get a decent HSF and overclock, or a better option get yourself a decent midrange graphics card.

What power supply and motherboard do you have?

Sound in BFBC2 is rendered on the CPU so provides some additional overhead for your CPU to cope with. BFBC2 sound is quite intense so could be causing a bottleneck at your CPU when things get hectic. I've no idea on how capable a 7950 GT is but those core speeds seem very slow when compared with more recent GPUs.

Perhaps it's time to upgrade your four year old hardware for something a bit more up to date.

E6600
3GB samsung RAM
7950 GT
320GB HDD (not sure on brand etc)
elitegroup p965t-a
not sure on psu either

im in progress of building a gaming pc so this pc is just to give me something to play with

What settings are you using on your BFBC2? Low/Medium/High?

It's time for a completely new system. Your CPU and GPU are both insufficient for the latest games.

As ChrisGTL says check over the settings of the game,

I am running a Athlon 64 X2 6000+ @ 3.1GHz
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT (Oc)
I am able to get 50+ FPS

No matter what the game is i run it in low settings just for the sake of a few extra fps`s,
Check your Direct X settings also try setting this down to 9 from auto,

Settings for bfbc2 are in Documents\BFBC2.
