Ok got myself a nice EVGA 8800GTX today and its in and working great. Is it worth retaining my 8800GS 384Mb to use a dedicated physx card?

And is it right that it dosent work properly in Vista unless you have dual monitors?

There's no driver support for load allocation yet, and even when it does emerge I question how good it will be or whether it will be worth bothering with.

Yeah you can use the 8800 GS as a PhysX card, but not sure what performance will be like with it doing PhysX and thats correct about Vista, you need dual screens otherwise it won't work.

Yeah keep it and see how it goes, it should give you a nice little boost in PhysX enabled games.

If your monitor has dual inputs then you can just use the 2nd input instead of a whole other monitor.

Keep an eye out on the R180 driver release rumoured to be coming this month too, the new driver might just eliminate the need for a 2nd display for a PhysX card, here's hoping anyway.....

Well ive been doing a bit of reading on the subject and it seems that plugging a DVI-DSUB dongle into the 2nd card will be enough to fool vista that you have a monitor attched to the card.

Cant see how it would work, but i'll try it tomorrow :)
