Got a Private Plate but no V5C Yet. Options? :(

Ok,

So on the 18th March I got my other half a new car and she has since got a private Reg for it and we have the V750 sitting here plus 2 number plates made up.

Now, I haven't received the V5C yet (because it can take up to 4 weeks!)

Do I have to wait till I get the V5C through before I can pop down to my local DVLA office and get the plates changed over (plus new road tax disc)?

If you have the new owners supplement you might manage it. They will be able to tell when log book in your name was sent.

Take all documents with you.

I tried this when I bought my last car.
They returned all of my documentation telling me that a "New V5 has been issued - please wait for it to arrive".

Might be different if you go in person, but certainly via post they made me wait for the new V5 to arrive.

Well im going to have to pop down to the local centre and see what they say. Chances are that they will say wait...
