hi

i want to build a media streamer for the front lounge to connect via hdmi to my denon amp. i ideally want it to connect to my main pc which is easy enough via homeplugged network.

i am thinking about a cheap amd aPU setup as i may want to play games at some point in the future. i have a copy of windows 8 for it and a 480 gig sata 2 vertex big foot ssd for it.

i need the following, happy to go 2nd hand:

mini itx PSU or full size if i can mod the case if space
minit itx motherboard
cpu or APU
i have 8 gig of ram 1600 mhz already
i will hopefully put a 2tb storage drive in to if room.
it also has a slim line dvd rw coming with it to.

possible GPU as well, crossfire would be good for footy manager and medium setting FPS.

any ideas?

yes, i have now sold my house and will be buying a bigger one. the main pc will be in my man room at the bottom of our new garden so i want a small unit for the lounge as a media server etc.

anyone, found a cheap sfx 300 wt psu. are be quiet good?
will the 3.5" vertex ssd fit this.

yes, xfire with the apu if thats the best route. thinking i now probably won't game on it, i may get the giga all in one E350 board. only going to stream movies and music to my amp and tv.

what psu will do, the cheap sfx cit one?

good point, it's also hindering on budget. i need to sell a lot of stuff but i do have some cash spare for the build. will see what i can get for the money i have, around £120-130

i understand that but i have decided that i won't game with this machine, simply store and stream music and movies to my amp and game on my ps3 and main pc which i setup and games well.

yes, i don;t need 3 gaming machines. my main pc is attached to a 24" monitor and the missus can watch tv still.

i opted for the amd E350N combo board, 8 gig of ram, 480 gig ssd 3.5" drive and a 400 wt cit psu. running very nice and updating windows. a little load but i think it's the fan at the front and psu fan, although thats quite quiet. any quieter front fans than the stock silverstone one?
