Works to spec, so I don't understand why you think that's wrong somehow.

It appears to be a perfectly reasonable solution that'll work just fine. Having Powerline adapters in the mix isn't ideal, but I'm sure you're aware of that.

Claiming that something is wrong without any justification is never very helpful.
