Got a virus I think, can anyone help?

Hi,

I have a virus I think on my computer with Vista 64 installed on it. Not sure how I got it, or when I got it as I mainly hibernate. I run NOD32 v3 which is always up to date.

Now what happens is, when I load a browser up it says it can't ever find the website, as if I wasn't connected to the net. Now I know I am as I can ping websites and get a reply. Also when I close it windows comes up with "Firefox has stopped working" which you just click close program, but its weird it does that for just about everything I shut down. Also windows DEP (Data Execution Protection) information window pops up.

I mentioned earlier that it only seems to affect main stream stuff on the pc, for example MSN Messenger, Firefox, IE, Chrome, Winamp. Though I am not sure it just stops anything that tries to connect to the net.

Ideas?

Does the DEP window give you any more information that you can post? Has Nod32 flagged anything?

Have you ran HijackThis to see if anything dodgy was found?

A few virus's have been flagged up, Adware.Baictron.A, TrojanDownloader.Zlob and Alcaul.NAA. But I can't find anything for these and they have been cleaned by NOD32. DEP doesn't give any info unfortunately.

Hijackthis hasn't come up with anything I could detect as dodgey, except I didnt seem to have many processes.

Try running MalwareBytes. It has got rid of most things other software hasn't when I have been working on systems with lots of nasties.

Lots of useful information relating to cleaning out your Vista. I'd also highly recommend ComboFix.
Just take a look at that link and do all the steps they mention.
