got BF2 again :D

Well today I decided to get the game again.

Last time I played it was when it first came out. Absolutly loved it.

Has is changed much and whats the community like?

a lot of BF2 players on here? Any good servers to play on?

Loads of people on here play. There's a 300+ page BF2 thread, :D

EA have majorly screwed the new patch (1.3) so all of the servers crash every so often. There is a huge problem with crash to desktops when you load a game.
Press escape to join a game when the map has loaded reduces the problems.

Quite a good community, you just need to get a decent server. Stay away from the EA UK ones tbh. Clan servers are usually better, 50klicks etc.
 
Not a good time to start playing again, I suggest you avoid playing till 1.4 is released in august or your'll end up selling it again
 
Its not that bad, i came back into bf2 again with the 1.3 patch it is frustrating but certainly doesn't spoil the fun.
 
Thats the only problem I get with 1.3, the crash doesnt happen to often though and its still a cracking game :D
 
some good mods(imo)starting to trickle out aswell.
if you fancy a bit of desert combat style gameplay(ok..maybe not as good but fun all the same) try: us intervention.
for more realism: project reality mini mod (fantastic mod i think and worth a download)
roll on forgotten hope 2 etc :)
 
I just bought the game the other day too. I played the demo when it first came otu and loved it. I always said I'll go out and buy the game some day but never did. Managed to get it now.

Can you play project reality without messing up your normal install? Does it have any single player? Cheers :)
 
Prmm? Plugs in fine, no interference last time I tried it but its pretty extreme. AT kit has the launcher and a pistol but they can kill anything with 1 rocket I think, the sever I went on had 30 seconds death time.

I was hoping for more mods by now to topple EA's reign of tyranny
