Got caught speeding - no points or fine!!

Personally I would give you a ban for slamming your brakes on when you saw a camera van, that's much more dangerous than speeding in my eyes.

Although if he's doing 50 in a 30 limit then hitting the brakes and slowing down to 30 will only put the child killer thats doing 50 behind him at risk. No-one doing 30 behind him will be anywhere near to him. I dont see anything wrong with him slamming on down to the limit.

They can't prosecute for slamming your brakes on when seeing a camera/officer etc. They might give you a telling off though.

I was doing above the speed limit through a 30 zone, until I saw a Truvelo in front. I actually thought it had got me, 2 months passed, got nothing. Turns out it wasn't turned on as it was a new camera. Learnt my lesson that way, never again.

They flash purple so you would have known straight away.

just didn't notice the mobile camera van parked way ahead, about 200 metres up the road.

Incidentally I was using a bus lane out of hours (in readiness to take a left at some lights) while approaching a fixed speed camera, a woman in a Micra whizzed past using the normal lane & set off the camera. She DID slam on her brakes & stopped dead in the road. As I trundled past smirking at her she engaged reverse & backed up over the speed camera markings on the road, then moved forward over them again but slowly this time

I can only imagine she thought she could somehow undo the speeding offence she had just committed :p

So was it a mobile van or a gatso? Or was that an unrelated anecdote confirming that women in micras are morons? :p
