Got my 3800X boost to 4650Mhz in light gaming loads

So sold off my 3600X CPU'S and grabbed a cheap 3800X from buy and sell.Seems to work very good or normal,not sure about the 3800X yet,it's only been a few days with it.

So basically light load gaming up to 4650Mhz
Heavy gaming loads like BF5 can do up to 4475Mhz -4500Mhz all cores

I can say gaming is the same between 3600X vs 3800X no difference.

To anyone worried about the CPU voltage,it is OK.It is running off AMD settings and it has a 3 year warranty.I can also run it at lower voltage if I want to.

I notice your VDDG is just shy of 1.1v. Is that an auto voltage or have you manually set it to that?

Well the voltage is higher than normal for me.I run the memory controller clock (uclk), and the infinity fabric clock (fclk) 1900Mhz with voltage below.

Minimum voltage of 1.44v, maximum of 1.581v and 85c.

"AMD settings"? I'd not give that CPU long before it starts to degrade.

Now I know you must know for sure how the AMD CPU's work but here a screen I did today.

1.544 core voltage.? That's the highest I've seen it so far...

That is an interesting game bench you've used there. I see the CPU and GPU are no where near full load but you get all cores to boost upto 4.650. Wonder if all the review sites should have used this to show maximum boost. You identified it as light gaming which looking at the CPU & GPU utilization it really is a light game.

Just to be clear ,light gaming will be any game or application like Cinebench20 single where you can get the boost clock running high clocks. Not all cores will be on at once.

Just taking a screenshot ,for average missing,I would say HWinfo64 updating along with Nvidia Gforce Experience on desktop taking screens,I guess I could take 10 screenshots and get everything.Post seven shows everything,hey 1 out of 2 that is a good average.
Yeah the actual screenshot HWinfo64 was running for 30 Minutes ,so I do not know how they all got to 4650Mhz but I am sure it was a couple at a time.

Well The Ryzen Master screen was just to show DDR4 timings and voltage,I actually do not use it.If you look at the Ryzen Master Screenshot,it show all the information on how the motherboard was in the set.
So Auto Overclocking with PBO Override set to 300Mhz at a peak voltage of 1.45125 and average is lower.

I did not make the CPU or BIOS,I am fine with how it works,who is to say the 3rd party monitor tool is actually working correctly.
If people worry about there CPU's like that ,well that is just crazy.It is only a replaceable CPU.Which has no meaning,value to me.I am just showing how it is should work and I did the same with 2600X/3600X/3800X and soon 3900X.

I do not disagree with you ,everyone has different opinions,was it not last month with a big dustup with AMD not having CPU's boosted to what is written on the box.I have not had a problem with 3 different Ryzen 3 CPU's boosting on this motherboard,even past what is written on the box.

How about these voltages on Prime95 29.8 Build 6 with AVX smallest FFT's,which voltage do you think the real CPU voltage.I am serious ,can you tell me please.

AMD didn’t make the bios either mate so you might want to look at that before it’s too late.

The boost isn’t all cores it’s a single core at a time so this is all fairy irrelevant.

Amazing how people know everything on the internet lol.

AMD make the AGESA which is required as part of the BIOS. YOu cant make a BIOS for AM4 without the AGESA supplied by AMD.

All I can say these AMD Ryzen 3 CPU's are great.So I was testing some on screen displays this morning I done up in AIDA64 and MSI Afterburner.
Had my CPU voltage setting around 1.3v or something in BIOS,now I got a problem my CPU is cooler than my GPU.I know that must be bad also.Crap I can not win.

LOL not sure which launcher, I have the game on both EPIC and Steam I think but it has not crashed,I will try it on game pass and see if it crashes.
Anyway I play all my games on 4K Freesync 60Hz screen but I like Ultrawide so that was recorded 3840x1440 32:9 in windowed mode.

BF5 still same voltage and low 50's,seems about the same GPU Temp higher than CPU.This is the way all my Ryzen CPU's have always worked.They can be set ,to your personal choice and I have no fear of running with low voltages or high and that last bit is not directed at anyone in particular.I think people are trying to wrap the head around the new AMD CPU and just do not understand how they work.

Which is not the BIOS it’s part of it? So the notion the OP doesn’t care the voltage is out of spec because it’s ‘AMD’ controlled is utter dillusion.



Equally amazing how you gloss over the voltage hitting high numbers, if you kill that good luck with the warranty. I think people are generally very clear on how they work as it’s probably the most talked about chip in a long time from a boost perspective...
