Got my 3rd C2D chip to play with! Also 1 vcore question

Went from an e6300 to e6400...now just got an e6600 to replace it... (Thanks frannobaz).

Dropped it straight in, cranked vcore to 1.55....fsb to 451....

Passed 2 minutes of orthos....and now I'm using SMP folding to test stability as I've found it is slightly better although longer.

Load temps are 46c under water folding.....56c dual orthos stress. I'm going to hope for 3.8-4.0ghz out of this chip...I'm comfortable running 1.575vcore 24/7 max load so hopefully I can get some high numbers :D

Am I crazy for being fine with runnign this at high vcore 24/7? Temps are very reasonable and I've never heard of a C2D dying from overvolting...

1.55vcore?! Are you trying to murder it :p My Q6600 only needs 1.4v to get to 3.2 stable (not the same chip but I don't think you need 1.55v to get to 3.6?).

:)

just my style of overclocking. I usually crank up the vcore to the max that I'm comfortable with running 24/7 100% load....then try to find the ceiling of the chip.

Once I find my max OC I start stepping down the vcore and doing stability tests....just seems faster this way for me.

Also I see people pushing 1.7+ through these sometimes so I'm lead to believe they are indestructible.
