Bought a bike a while ago, and it turned into a bit of a nightmare with fixing needing done. I'd been putting off fixing it for ages. Finally dropped it in on monday to have them take a look at it.

They fitted a new exhaust (from the bay), new break pads, new carborater caps, spark plug and oil change.

I can now say, that for the first time ever. I have driven a motorcycle.

Even if it was only in a circle around my garden. Pretty stoked tbh- can't wait to take her out on the road. :P

Must HAVE been. ;)

Haha.

It's not Chinese, but Taiwanese. Though I suppose it makes little difference.

I had it out on the road for the first time on Sunday, a friend took me on a trip for a couple hours. i just followed behind him. It was pretty scary, but with more practise it should get easier :P

It can be quite overwhelming at first, but with practice will come confidence. Find yourself a little circuit locally and just go round and round until you start becoming more comfortable.

There's one big rule of thumb to drill into yourself. Look where you want to go. It sounds obvious, but if you fixate on something then the bike will inevitably head towards it. The simple act of moving your head will make the bike head in the direction you are looking. Always keep your head up and look where you want to go.

So true esp when you have to do the whole turn in the road thing for your test. Look where you want to go and you end up going there like magic!

That and just having the confidence to turn the bars quite a way too. Remember your life saver before turning! as well as before moving off ;)

It was very daunting. That all seems like good advice!
Funny thing is, I was pelting down the road at a fair speed, but only fell off when I was trying to slow down to park. I think my problem was not clutching down and holding the front break instead. Practise will solve it though. I'm fairly lucky that my housing estate is 1 really large loop.
Googlemap Poleglass if you want to see :p

At slow speeds, you might want to try a bit of rear brake for stability.
