Today my first contract phone bill arrived.
I opened the letter, expecting it to say "£12.50 please".
Instead, I am greeted with "39.80 BEFORE VAT".

Apparantly I have 2 phones and 2 numbers... But I don't...

Also, how has my £25 a month contract ended up costing 39.81? (I guess the top lines on each are contract prices???)

Scan of bill.

I don't understand what's going on.

Edit: Note the 2 numbers I've blacked out are different numbers

I still haven't received my first bill yet and I've had the phone for exactly 1 year

The phone was sent to me so I know they have my correct address and they always send the latest news letters etc but no bill

That's pretty lucky haha.

Just phoned up vodafone and they can't help me as I'm not the person paying the direct debit so they can't even speak to me

That bill still has me confused too.
What does it mean by me having "30.00 from my extras pack"...

your first bill we always be slightly more than usual because the first bill include line rental from the day you got the phone to the day you got the bill, PLUS the whole of the next month.
Still doesnt explain why its double dup though, looks like an admin error on their side lol

Heres what your bill says :

18 Month Anytime 200 + 250 Texts + Stop the Clock + 3 Months Half Price
Counting for 5th May to 30th June
£39.81 + VAT

Credit
£19.91 + VAT

Ok, Normally your price plan is £25 a month, the reason it came to £39.81 + VAT is because it actually says you're paying for nearly 2 months worth. (You are charged proportionally for the 26 Days in May + Full month of June)

You get 3 Months Half Price which is where the credit of £19.91 + VAT comes in.

So you pay £19.90 + VAT.

Always remember to read what dates the bill is for, you are paying for more than one month which is why it came to a lot more. You will still get your 3 months half price (hence the credit).

EDIT - Didnt read it properly lol.

yeah there is definitely something going on regarding you having 2 phones on there, vodafone should refund it.

My dad just got off the phone with them.
They insisted they'd sent us 2 phones...
My dad asked why the dispatch note in front of him said 'quantity = 1' and they finally agreed somethign was up.
Refunding the 2nd random bill in a few days apparantly...
Pretty irritating how they implied my dad was lying... :(

T-Mobile bills are fantastic. I got mine, 14 sides of fun for only 2 numbers and no itemised items. Orange at least summarised everything on one page, and the rest was itemised nicely.
