Right, so im a complete car noob. Recently bought a Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia 2001, and the CD player in it is broken (knew this when i got it). So, time to get a new CD player for this thing.
Im now learning about all these different adapters i will need, along with DINs/Double DINs and how my focus is a DIN and a half
So, from what i can tell, i basically needed a blanking plate for half of the hole, and some adapters for the wiring to make it fit into a new stereo. If i went the halfords route i would have paid £32 for this stuff, but i found someone selling kits on ebay for £8.50 which look to be the exact same things (im pretty sure they are right, anyone wanna double check for me ?

So once that arrives, im assuming the only thing i need (bar an adapter for wheel controls, but they seem quite expensive, and well, not worth it), is the stereo itself. Im told new stereos come with a mounting cage which goes in first, and you fold some pins around to lock it into place. Seems simple enough ? I wouldnt mind buying second hand for cheapness sake, any reasons not to ?
Thanks to anyone who replies
