Got my first football team portrait thusday

what would be the best settings with my 70-200 lens f4l i will be hand helding or would the 50mm be better?

50mm over the 70-200 unless you are taking it from across the field

Not taken a shot like this before but if I was going to then I would go for the 50mm and get the aperture to around F/8-F/11 and see what shutter speeds you can grab. Shouldn't need a shutter speed higher than 1/125 so you may even get a smaller aperture like F/13??
